Biography* | Before she got married she was named Caroline Bunte. In the US census she goes by the name Gertrude Lamping. It was in the certificate of her daughter Elizabeth Lamping that her maiden name was partially reveiled: Bu...te. In a biography of her son Francis M. Lamping her maiden name was fully mentioned: Caroline Gertude (Bunte) Lamping. And in the will of her spouse we find the two first names combined: Caroline Gertrude Lamping [Lamping Henry Anton Cincinnati, OH 07/13/1888 71 33451 Spouse: Caroline Gertrude Lamping]. Caroline Bunte shipped to the US in 1845 at the same both as her future husband Henrich Antony Lamping. The ship was named Brunswick. In the German emigrant documents her profession was farmer. She was also a sew [Näherin] in the household of her brother-in-law Joseph Hartmann from Längforden. On the ship Brunswick to New Orleans, also Maria Elisabeth Hartmann, daughter of Heuermanns Joseph Hartmann was present. | |
