In the publication of the banns (ondertrouw, the following witnesses were mentioned. On the side of the bride: Geertruida Koning widow of Nicolaas Galmeijer, and on the side of the groom: Petrus Adrianus Gerber. Both Louisa's parents are alive when she marries. At their wedding they legally adopt their own child named Johanna Wilhelmina. The Officer of Health first classe (Officer van gezondheid 1ste klasse) states the following in dutch: Ik ondergetekende verklare hierbij dat Mejuffrouw Louisa Gerber onder mijn behandeling is met Slepende persloop vergezeld van krampachtige aandoening der Baarmoeder en Algemeene Verzwakking de uitgang hiervan blijft moeijelijk te bepalen. de officier van Gezondheid der 1e klasses. H. Schouwenberg (?). Curaçao den 29e October 1846. Getuigen Geertruida Koning is geboren in Harderwijk, April 30, 1803. In 1846 was ze 33 jaar oud. Geertruida overlijd september 7, 1869, 23 jaar later. Nicolaas Galmeijer zat in het leger. Op 30 nov 1821 is hij aangenomen als logements onderofficier ingevolge aanschrijving van het Department van oorlog dd 28 nov 1821. No.15. 06e Afdeling Infanterie - 1820-1821 Daarvoor heeft hij in Deventer 1813/14), Holland (1814) en Frankrijk (1815) gediend. Blond haar, blauwe ogen en ronde kin en lange neus. Nicloaas was geboren in Dordrecht, 29 oct 1988 en overleed 24 juli 1845 op Curacao. Bij zijn aankomst in het korps was hij lang 1 ellen, 7 palmen, 7 duimen en 3 strepen. (Tja zo ging dat vroeger). Louisa's age is between 16 an 19 when se marries. There is still (2016) the unsureness when and where she was born and who here mother is. . |

In her death certificate Louisa is named "Louisa Augustina Federica Redolfina Gerber". Her mother is mentioned as Aannatje Maria Streeder. The death was given notice by Ale "Jorna/Joma/Jana?", the "Hervormd Protestantsche Aanspreker", spokesman of the Reformed Protestant Church. She dies at half past two in the afternoon. She lived in the Stadsdistrict at Willemstad. No profession. |
| Biography* | Louise lived at Curaçao. Louisa's mother probably is Maria Clementina MOOR, former slave at Bonaire. Petrus Adrianus Gerber most probably is the father. We are currenlty (2009) investigating this mistery, which is covered up, by a birthcertificate being entered in the administration long after she was born. It says she was born at Curacao. It is most probably untrue. Petrus Gerber and his wife Hester Maria Streeder are white and have white ancestors. Louisa and many of her offspring are mixed, some are white some are coloured. So there is realy something about Louisa.... A DNA test would be very welcome. But how to set it up. We probably need the maternal lines and descendants of both families in maternal line. So apart from the already known descendants of Louisa, we need other descendants of Maria Clementina MOOR, her mother. At the birth of Johan August Frederik Bekker, her name includes for the first time a reference to her assumed slave name: Louisa Rudolphina MOOR CLEMENTINA. Also in her deatch certificate there is a reference to her original name: Louisa Augustina Federica Redolfina Gerber. |
