An overview of the books on my bookshelves

Robert Franklin Lamping

Going into a bookshop usually is for me a very expensive visit. More than once I walk out with more than three books. And why? Well, I learnt that two of my strengths are INPUT and LEARNER (according to the Gallup strenghts test). I regard it as a possible explanation why I like to read books. I read them to drive me forward and to give me ideas what to do next. Many books are in the field of management, coaching, education, motivation, languages (e.g. papiamentu), sleep, circadic rythms and NLP.   This webpage is there to share the titles with you. (I also have books in the field of databasemanagement, e-business etc. But these categories are not any longer my main fields of interest and are not displayed here.)

Pareto's 80/20 rule for Corporate Accountants, David Parmenter

David Parmenter is the CEO and Managing Director of Waymark Solutions. For the last ten years he has specialized in assisting organizations to measure report and improve their performance.

Organized into two parts, Part 1 of Pareto's 80/20 Rule for Corporate Accountants focuses on the areas where the finance team can score the easy goals, including month-end reporting, monthly reports, board reporting, annual planning, and managing debtors and clients. Part 2 discusses more wide ranging changes such as cost apportionment, better practices for using key performance indicators (KPIs), investing in accounting systems, and quarterly rolling planning.

The pyramid principle, Barbara Minto

The Pyramid Principle shows you how to structure and present your arguments with the clarity and precision that will gain immediate understanding from your audience.

Barbara Minto developed The Pyramid Principle through her early work as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, Inc. She now runs her own consultancy, Minto International, Inc., specializing in teaching the Pyramid Principle to people whose major training is in business or the professions, but whose jobs nevertheless require them to produce complex reports, analyses, memorandums, or presentations
